What a beautiful period of the year is the spring in Amsterdam, which flourishes as a multi-colored tulip… Life shines on the smiles, the first little sprouts, the birds in the air, the ducks on the water, busy cafés, apple pies with ‘slagroom’, white legs riding bicycles, red faces, flip-flops, little tables brought to the footpath for an early dinner with a glass of wine with your lover, while the boats pass by… And flowers and flowers and flowers…

In principal, everywhere in the city centre is pretty safe. Some areas in downtown are provided with security cameras too. Some recommendations for a safe and pleasant stay:
- Try to avoid using the ATM machines at very late hours and on dark places.
- Beware of pickpockets: you don’t need to bring all your money with you; use a copy of your passport when walking in town, instead of the original; never use your wallet in the back pocket of your trousers.
- Don’t buy drugs on the streets: they are illegal and you may get into trouble.
Enjoy Amsterdam, but not everything is allowed...
